About the Author: Kate DiCamillo is the award-winning author of over 30 books for children, including Newbery Medal-winner "The Tale of Desperaux," "Because of Winn-Dixie" and "Flora and Ulysses." She served as the 2014-2015 National Ambassador for Young People's Literature, appointed by the Library of Congress. Several of her books have been turned into movies, and one was even adapted as an opera. She grew up in Florida and currently lives in Minnesota.
