Children's behavior is directly connected to how they are feeling. Presenter Heather Harlan will offer some simple ways you as a parent or caregiver can change your behavior —starting immediately — to help children know they are loved, feel better and, often, act better. These helpful shifts in perspective may help during the stressful holiday seasonand the basic principles apply to tots and teens alike.

Heather Harlan is certified reciprocal prevention specialist and Missouri associate alcohol and drug counselor II with a broad range of experience in mental health services for all ages. Currently she works at the Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services as a health program coordinator. Her focus is on overdose response and adult mental health.
