This full-day, in-person training will teach you how to reach out and provide initial support to an adult who may be developing a mental health or substance use challenge, and help connect them to the appropriate care. The course will teach you how to apply the ALGEE action plan:

  • Assess for risk of suicide or harm.
  • Listen non-judgmentally.
  • Give reassurance and information.
  • Encourage appropriate professional help.
  • Encourage self-help and other support strategies.

This course presented by Compass Health Network and is being offered at no cost by Missouri's Department of Mental Health. We are not able to provide lunch, but you are encouraged to bring one for yourself.
