This series helps adults 60 years and older realize that falls — and the fear of falling — are controllable. Learn ways to change your environment to limit risk and discover strength and balance exercises to reduce your chances of falling. This free, eight-week course is provided by a specialist in nutrition and health from MU Extension. Adults 60 and older. Please register to attend all sessions.
Falls are the number one cause of injuries and death from injury for older adults. A fall can threaten your independence and often prove costly, as well. This series helps adults 60 years and older realize that falls — and the fear of falling — are controllable. You'll learn ways to change your environment to limit risk factors and discover strength and balance exercises to reduce your chances of falling.
This award-winning program may be for you if you:
- Are concerned about falls
- Have fallen in the past
- Restrict activities because you’re worried about falling
- Are interested in improving your flexibility, balance and strength
- Are at least 60 years old, ambulatory and able to problem solve
This free, eight-week course is provided by a specialist in nutrition and health from University of Missouri Extension. Cosponsored by Aging Best.
