Walter Bargen, the first Poet Laureate of Missouri and the award-winning author of 24 books of poetry, will talk about and read from his latest work. In "Pole Dancing in the Night Club of God," Bargen imagines biblical characters in our contemporary world, displaying his wit and his gift for keen observation and existential questioning. "You Wounded Miracle," a collection of 60 poems paired with photographs, is both a cry for help and a celebration of life on this planet, addressing contemporary issues like technology, environmental disaster and the media from a poetic perspective.
