Please join the library and the Missouri State Museum to learn about some of Missouri’s most significant trailblazers in this monthly series of virtual programs in honor of Missouri's bicentennial. What is a trailblazer, you might ask? A trailblazer is someone who has had an impact on our culture through major events, leadership, innovation and more. In June, we highlight Laura Ingalls Wilder.
Even before writing her first Little House book, Wilder was making contributions to educational and inspirational literature for Missouri’s farm folks. As we consider her life and work, we also see that her life as a child, teenager and adult had challenges that seemed insurmountable — similar to challenges we have faced in 2020 and 2021 with the COVID pandemic. Two favorite sayings passed down to Laura and her sisters were: “There is nothing new under the sun” and ‘Life goes on,” which can be said of her life and ours, too!
Adults and teens. Please register to receive a Zoom link. If you miss the live event, you can watch the recorded event later; check www.dbrl.org/events for the link.
