Join us every Wednesday in October for a four-part virtual class to learn how we can all be advocates in the climate crisis. Topics covered in this course will include: basic climate change science; options for renewable energy; the Green New Deal; local, state and federal advocacy around climate change; how to talk to people about the climate crisis; how to advocate from your own home; local and national organizations to follow; and much more. This class will be taught by a Climate Reality Leader who has gone through Al Gore's Climate Reality Project course. Sponsored by Mid-Missouri Peaceworks.

Note: If you feel like you already know a lot about climate change science, then plan on joining us for only sessions three and four.

Class 1: In this first class, we will start to cover some general knowledge about the climate crisis and its history. We will discuss changing weather patterns, increasing natural disasters and changes in our ecosystems and food systems.
Class 2: Building on class one, we'll continue our discussion on the basics of climate change science and how we can work to fight the climate crisis.
Class 3: We'll learn about climate change activism. We'll talk about current legislation, the Green New Deal and how we can shift to renewable energy.
Class 4: Our last class for this session will be an opportunity to talk about how you can get involved with climate action, how you can advocate from your home, how to talk to people about climate change, and local or national climate action organizations to follow.

Adults. Please register to receive a Zoom link for all four classes.
