What is a trailblazer, you might ask? A trailblazer is someone who has impacted our culture through major events, leadership, innovation and more! Today's program will highlight Joe Penny.
Joe Penny was a freedman from Kentucky who paid $160 for eight acres of land in Saline County, Missouri and founded the community of Pennytown, an historic black hamlet located eight miles southeast of Marshall, MO.
