Home chefs looking for the next culinary adventure and new cooks wanting to expand their repertoires will enjoy this new virtual cooking series. We'll explore different culinary topics, sharing recipes, techniques and resources related to food and cooking. You'll see a live recipe demonstration and walk-through by staff, and you'll get tips on easily recreating these dishes on your own. This program will help new and seasoned cooks alike.
Summer is almost at a close, even if we’ll likely be stuck with toasty temperatures for a while longer, but there are two places that always come to mind for many when we think of the end of summer: the pool, with it’s cool water, and the state fair, with it’s delicious and utterly unhealthy treats. From the lemonade, to the burgers, to the bevy of fried foods, there are so many culinary touchstones that you’ll only find at a state or county fair. The secret, however, is that you can enjoy those treats from the comfort of your own home! No need to fight the crowds; with a bit of prep and a few household ingredients you can enjoy fried foods found at the fair all year round.
We’ll offer tips on safe deep-frying and then walk through three of my personal fair favorites: corn dogs, funnel cakes and deep-fried oreos! It’ll be a smorgasbord of state fair snacks, so be sure to tune in and celebrate the last days of summer right. See you there!
Adults and teens. Please register to get a Zoom link. We'll also record the program for later viewing on our YouTube channel.
