Please join the library and the Missouri State Museum to learn about some of Missouri’s most significant trailblazers in this online series. What is a trailblazer, you might ask? A trailblazer is someone who has impacted our culture through major events, leadership, innovation and more! Today's program will highlight Kansas City puppet phenomenon Hazelle Hedges Rollins.
For Hazelle Hedges Rollins, what began as a hobby of puppet-making would eventually lead to running the largest exclusive manufacturer of marionettes and puppets in the world. For over 40 years, her puppeteering enthralled the children of Missouri. Join us to learn about the history of puppetry in America, how one Missouri woman puppeteer became a successful entrepreneur and how her legacy lives on in the world of puppetry arts today.
Adults, teens and school-aged kids. Please register to receive a Zoom link.
If you miss the live event, you can watch the recorded event later; check the library's YouTube channel for the link.
