In acknowledgment and celebration of the 75 years of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the City of Columbia Human Rights Commission invites community members to a community conversation to discuss the needs of the city regarding human rights. The commission believes that hearing from members of the community is the cornerstone for further advocacy and accountability.
In line with the United Nation’s Human Rights Day theme — Freedom, Equality, & Justice for All — this event is a way for the commission to hold space for members of the community to voice concerns about the state of human rights in Columbia. The commission hopes to identify areas for future engagement and advocacy. Ultimately, the goal of this event is to remind us that human rights are non-negotiable and should always be prioritized.
