Join the library and Ragtag Cinema for a free screening of "The Librarians." Directed by Kim A. Snyder, this documentary highlights library staff in Texas, Florida and beyond acting as first responders in the fight for democracy and First Amendment rights. (Not rated, 92 minutes.)

A short panel discussion will follow the film. Panelists include:

  • Otter Bowman (she/they), Daniel Boone Regional Library outreach librarian, chair of the American Library Association's Chapter Relations Committee, director at large for the ALA Intellectual Freedom Round Table and past president of the Missouri Library Association
  • Robin Westphal (she/her), executive director of the Daniel Boone Regional Library, former Missouri State Librarian
  • A representative of DBRL Workers United

ALL AVAILABLE TICKETS HAVE BEEN CLAIMED. THE COLUMBIA PUBLIC LIBRARY IS HOSTING ANOTHER SCREENING OF THE FILM ON APRIL 22 AT THE LIBRARY.

Ragtag Free Ticket Policy: Tickets to free events are available at our box office starting at noon the day of the show (unless otherwise noted). No more than four free tickets will be given to one person. A free ticket guarantees you a seat until 10 minutes before showtime and not after. If all tickets have been distributed and there are open seats at 10 till, we will start seating the theater from the waiting list (queue). Ticket holders will continue to be admitted at this time if seats are available. This policy allows us to start on time and give the audience a distraction-free experience.
