In our time, housing prices have soared, and wages have stayed comparatively level. As a result, many working-class families can't afford homes of their own. The Columbia Community Land Trust (CCLT) helps such families buy high-quality houses at prices far below their market value. The CCLT's Doug Hunt will show how this organization can create permanent islands of affordability, forever protected from the rising tide of housing prices.
Co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Columbia-Boone County.
