Explore your creative side with our first series of classes designed to help you express yourself and grow creatively! Experienced instructor and accomplished artist Jenn Wiggs will instruct you on core principles of painting using acrylic and gouache, chosen for their versatility and accessible qualities. Beginners are welcome and encouraged!
In this eight-week course, students aged 55 and older will learn the fundamentals of working with paint. Through working from observation, technical demonstrations, focused painting projects and hands-on instruction, you'll become familiar with the materials and techniques of painting and develop skills that will enable you to progress to the creation of more advanced work and pursue a creative vision.
Paints and supplies provided. An exhibit of student work is planned for Saturday, May 17, 1-3 p.m. at the Columbia Public Library.
