Looking for a great (and simple) way to engage young children? Want the help of a puppet to tell a specific story? Ready to add to your classroom toolkit?
In this ridiculously fun and practical workshop, Priscilla Howe focuses on how and why to use puppets in the early childhood setting. She draws on decades of experience as a full-time storyteller and a former children’s librarian. In this workshop, Priscilla introduces simple techniques for effective use of puppets when the puppeteer is visible (no puppet stage). Her goal is to spark your creativity and offer you ideas to use immediately.
The workshop consists of lecture and demonstration plus active audience participation and time for questions. You are encouraged to bring a puppet to the session. Priscilla will also bring practice puppets for each participant to take home, and she'll bring a large selection of her own puppets to try out.
Adults. DHSS-SCCR approved, 1 clock hour. Please register through the Missouri Department of Education.
