If you have ever been fascinated by Columbia's Grasslands neighborhood near the MU campus, come learn about the history of the streets’ names and how this neighborhood is connected to the Rollins family. Presented by Linda Keown in partnership with CoMo Preservation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the awareness, appreciation and preservation of our historic properties, neighborhoods and landscapes through education, advocacy and restoration.
Presenter Linda Keown has lived in Columbia since 1957 except for when she was in college at Mount Holyoke in Massachusetts, in graduate school and while teaching in Atlanta. She was always interested in history and genealogy and became curious about the street names in the Grasslands, deciding to find out their origins. She found the State Historical Society of Missouri to be an invaluable source of information.
Adults.
