Join us live online for this annual favorite One Read event! David Lile of KFRU moderates a discussion of "Furious Hours" by Casey Cep with local experts, each sharing their individual experiences and expertise related to the One Read selection. 

  • Professor Frank O. Bowman, Floyd R. Gibson Missouri Endowed Professor of Law at the MU School of Law, will share his experience as a trial lawyer and his expertise in criminal justice.

  • Dr. Keona Ervin, associate professor of History at the MU College of Arts and Science, will share her knowledge and research of Black history, including Jim Crow, the segregationist south, politics and voting in the 1960s and 70s.

  • Dr. John Evelev, professor of English at the MU College of Arts and Science, will discuss the longevity of "To Kill a Mockingbird" and teaching the novel in the era of the Black Lives Matter movement.

  • Rep. David Tyson Smith, Missouri House of Representatives, District 45 (also of the Smith and Parnell Law Firm, LLC in Columbia), will address racial justice and his experience in local politics.
