Our musical host Morgan Matsiga was raised in a rich traditional African music background in a family that produced some of the most respected mbira players in his ancestral homestead in Chiweshe, Mazowe District (Mashonaland Central Province of Zimbabwe). He is also the KOPN radio host for "Motherland Jam" and "Reggae Party."
Families, ages 4 and older are welcome.
This event is part of "Make Music Columbia," a wild and wonderful mix of free musical events presented by the City of Columbia Office of Cultural Affairs. This is a local version of "Make Music Day," a global music celebration that takes place on the summer solstice each year and brings people of all ages and skill levels together to make music.
