You may know him as one half of the folk-rock duo Batdorf & Rodney or as a member of the '70s hit band Silver whose song "Wham Bam" had a recent resurgence after it was featured in the "Guardians of the Galaxy ll." He’s also a successful film and TV composer, session vocalist and inspirational musician in the substance recovery community.
In his five-decade career, Batdorf worked with music industry icons such as David Geffen, Adele, James Horner, Jimmie Haskell, Bill Conti, Rod Stewart, Donna Summer, Dwight Yoakum, David Lee Roth and Motley Crüe and many others. In the realm of film and TV, he’s lent his voice and compositional skills to beloved shows such as "Tom and Jerry Kids," "Garfield and Friends," "Touched by an Angel," "Promised Land," "Doctor, Doctor" and "Book of Days."
Batdorf continues to collaborate with legendary Utah-based singer, composer and filmmaker Michael McLean. Together as Batdorf & McLean, they've launched a unique substance abuse survival platform, and released the CD "Soundtrax2Recovery." He has also released new music collaboratively with his old partner Mark Rodney and James Lee Stanley. Since 2004, he’s released nine solo albums on his own imprint, BATMAC MUSIC. More recently, John has released several new CDs and EPs including "Me and My Guitar," "Side II" and, his latest release, "I’m Not Givin’ Up."
