This full-day, in-person training will teach you how to reach out and provide initial support to an adult who may be developing a mental health or substance use challenge, and help connect them to the appropriate care. Presented by Compass Health Network. The course will teach you how to apply the ALGEE action plan:
- Assess for risk of suicide or harm
- Listen nonjudgmentally
- Give reassurance and information
- Encourage appropriate professional help
- Encourage self-help and other support strategies
This course is open to participants who live or work in Missouri and is being offered to you at no cost by Missouri's Department of Mental Health. Lunch provided.
